Appearance
Demure and endearing, Taaban stands at a simple height of 4 fulm, 8 ilm, among the shortest examples of her kin. Her facial features are soft and small, exemplifying her often delicate bearing. Her long, flowing hair is a vibrant blue in color, interwoven with hues of coral pink. Her eyes are soft and calming, a warm soft pink in color with coral limbal rings. Her skin is a pale blue, and light pink freckles dot her round cheeks. Her horns are not as large as other Xaela, instead curving forward from the side of her head to frame her rounded jaw. Black scales cover the length of her nose and just above her brow, and further plating runs along her jaw and cheeks, and continue down her neck and upper chest. Her thin tail flows behind her gently, with several small spines along the length and ending in a fork.
She carries a petite form, though marked with lithe muscle honed from years of training in the art of bowhunting upon the plains of the Azim Steppe, and performing the traditional dances of her tribe. Despite her petite form, she is not without curves, though they are still slight and not as pronounced as some others. Small callouses mark parts of her palms, earned from usage of her bow in hunts, though they are not as prominent as many others. Her body is marked with scales, visible prominently on her arms and at her midriff.
The small Xaela prefers to wear decorative, flowing garments, comprised of wrapped and layered fabrics, almost always dyed varying shades of purple. She often has parts of her skin exposed, from her midriff and arms, though at times wears a warm hide and fur coat when the weather is cold. Her garb is accented by several sashes, beads, and baubles, and tribal Qalli patterns etched into the cloth. She carries a hunting bow and quiver on her back, the bow crafted from the horns of Steppe fauna and the leather quiver from their tanned hides. At her side are a pair of small chakram, etched with tribal designs and adorned with ribbons.
Personality
Taaban personifies the words sweet and compassionate, almost always bearing a smile on her face and a kind, caring demeanor. While uninformed of many aspects of the myriad cultures that live beyond the Steppe, she is by no means naive, and has a firm idea of the general ways of the world. Her singing speech is often marked with subtle nuance, and her words melodic and flowing.
She is highly knowledgeable about her kind and kin, taught the practices of the other Xaela tribes by her mother, a wise shaman and songhealer of her clan. It was instilled in her from a young age that it is a Qalli's duty to know as well as they sing, especially amongst the Shidet Tarni clan. Taaban takes these traditions very seriously, and holds these beliefs dear to her heart.
Voice
Taaban's voice is high and sweet, a natural high soprano, the bottom of her range rarely reaches even notes of some altos. (Real world examples; Disney's Snow White and Giselle) Being of the Qalli, almost everything she says is either sing-spoken or sung outright, and is always crisp, clear and bright. Though she is generally soft spoken, she has long mastered the art of projecting and can always be heard clear as crystal when she wants to be. It was always said that her tones could ring true across the whole of the Steppe if she so chose. (This was a generous and kind-hearted exaggeration, of course)
RP Hooks
Taaban is the daughter of a songhealer and shaman of the Shidet Tarni clan, and Xaela of other tribes may have encountered her when they sought out her mother for the healing of wounds that are beyond mundane means.
She is a skilled bowhunter and has hunted alongside those of other tribes on occassion, especially those that roam the northwestern plains.
The Shidet Tarni have attended various tribal gatherings, and Xaela may have heard her sing or watched her dance during ritual practices.
She has since undertaken a journey to Eorzea, under the watchful protection of a stern and strong warrior of the Qerel.
